# Customisation previews

A customisation intent maps raw checkout data to a name your team recognises. A preview goes one step further and shows what that data actually resolves to for a specific order, before anyone picks up the piece.

That's the difference between "custom_field_3: yes" sitting on a line item and someone on the floor actually knowing what to engrave.

## Questions

**Why does a preview matter if the text is already on the order?**
Raw line item attributes are built for checkout, not for a bench. A preview presents the same data the way someone building it actually needs to read it.
