What changed
- Manufacturing orders now automatically receive steps from matched plans as work orders with preserved dependencies
- Added new documentation: Manufacturing plans concept guide and Setup guide
- Products without a matching plan or default plan continue to create manufacturing orders without work orders (backward compatible)
How it works
- Create a manufacturing plan with your production steps
- Define dependencies between steps (what must complete before what can start)
- Assign targets (which products/variants/collections use this plan)
- Save and let Orderkraft handle the rest
When a made-to-order, personalised, or built-on-the-fly line item sells:
- Orderkraft matches it to the most specific available plan
- Copies that plan’s steps into the manufacturing order as work orders
- Preserves all dependencies between them
- The order picks up production where the plan left off—no manual setup
Backward compatible: Products with no matching plan and no default plan create manufacturing orders without work orders, exactly as before.
